Small Cross

This small cross can be a bookmark, wall hanging, or anything else you desire.  I created it as a thank-you gift for someone who taught me the hdc/sc combination stitch.

This is the first pattern I've written, so forgive me if the instructions don't quite follow all the usual pattern conventions.  I've tried to make it as clear as possible.

Yarn:  Unknown white worsted-weight acrylic that I had lying around.
Hook: F (3.75).

Pattern abbreviations:
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
slst - slip stitch
sc/hdc - both a single and a half double crochet into the same stitch

Pattern:
Foundation chain: Ch 5
Row 1: 4 sc starting in second ch from hook, turn
Row 2:  Ch 1, 1 sc into every other stitch, turn
Row 3:  Ch 1, 1 sc/hdc in first two stitches, 1 sc, turn
Repeat Row 3 until you have a total of 10 Rows
Row 11: Ch 6, turn, 5 slst into chain, continue across with slst, turn
Row 12:  Ch 6, turn, sc into 2 loops of chain, continue across to the end of the row, turn
Row 13:  Ch 1, 1 sc into every other stitch, turn
Row 14:  Ch 1, 1 sc/hdc into each stitch, finish with 1 sc, turn
Repeat Row 14 twice
Row 17: Ch 1, slst into next 5 stitches, sc/hdc into next 3 stitches, turn
Row 18: Ch 1, 1 sc/hdc in first 2 stitches, sc, turn
Repeat previous row until a total of 4 rows

Tie off and weave in ends.
